Nepal ends up the game with high margin winning 5-1 over Bangladesh in front of huge supporting crowd.


Nepal possessed threat to Bangladesh defenders early in the game. Three of the headers went off target early in the game as Nepal got first goal in 8th minute. Bimal Gharti Magar’s flick over the keeper found the cross bar and Shiva Subedi  scored in easy rebound ball.

Nepal picked up two quick goals, one in 20 and other in 22 minutes of the game. Bimal Gharti Magar continued his dominance in top goal scoring list with a headed ball on Amit Tamang’s cross. Third goal came on a tangled situation as Anjan Bista scored.

Bangladesh got three corners in a row in 32nd minute, but all those dangers were cleared either by defenders or goalkeeper Roman Rasali. Bangladesh missed another opportunity to narrow the lead as MD. Al- AMIM mistimed header on Torikul Isman’s cross and the half ended 3-0.

Bangladesh had to suffer another blow in second half, MD Atikuzzaman heads on his own net in attempt to clear the ball in Bikash Thapa’s cross in 57 minutes.

Nepal added another one in 65th minute. Sujan Limbu scored his third goal of the tournament in Bangladeshi keeper’s blunder mistake. Rahaman misses the ball in one vs one situation as Sujan Limbu scored on an open net.

Bangladesh got a consolation one as Alamin Tushar scores with easy in one v one with goalkeeper.

Nepal with four goals lead hold their attack in front of 10000 plus roaring crowd. Bimal Gharti Magar’s headed on a corner ball but Bangladesh defender denied the goal saving from goal line in 77th minute.

Aakash Thapa delivered lovely free kick five minutes later, Bimal Gharti Magar heads and the ball strikes the far post. The final score line was 5-1 as Nepal step into the final of the tournament which will be played between the winner of India and Afghanistan on Tuesday.

India face Afghanistan in Nepal Army training ground , Lagankhel on monday.
