Nepal made spiritual comeback to snatch away one point from Afghanistan after the two teams settled for a draw. Heman Thapa Magar struck to bring the home team ahead from the behind as Afghanistan took the lead on Alihamad’s goal.

Nepal took charge in attack from the very beginning but they failed to make any vital impact missing couple of goal scoring chances. Bimal Gharti Magar failed to capitalize one vs one chance as the goalkeeper was first to the ball in 18th minute. Bikash Thapa’s shot in 29th minute was well saved by goalkeeper as it was one of three fine attack Nepal posessed in three minutes.

Afghanistan’s serious move came only in 23rd minute as but Nasar failed to give final touch on the counter attack. The first half ended goalless.

Although Nepal dominated the attack, it was Afghanistan who found first goal. Unmarked Alihamad struck for his team to take the lead in 74th minute.

Hemant Thapa Magar made comeback through a free kick as the captain directly scored from a free kick in 81st minute. Nepal missed couple of chance to steal the game after the tie and the teams were compelled to share the points.

Meanwhile Pakistan played goalless draw with Bhutan on other Group A match played at Army ground , Lagankhel.

Nepal tops the group with 4 points while Afghanistan, Pakistan share two points each with two draws on a match.
