English International and Liverpool Captain Steven Gerrard praises his young team mate’s talent and insists that he is a future Premier league star.
Gerrard praised Sterling’s performance in the Merseyside Derby game on which the 17 years old was appearing for the first time and counted as his 11th senior Premier League appearances Sterling who was first time introduced by Dalglish in the Premier League last season is now almost regular part of Liverpool squad.
“He will be one of the top players in the league, there’s no doubt about it. The way he stands up and wants the ball, he doesn’t hide,” Gerrard told reporters. “He’s a credit to himself. He’s got some bottle. That’s what you look for in young lads.”
Gerrard who did not hesitate to praise former QPR youth also claimed that he will feature much more Merseyside derby in future and his presence will have good impact to the reds.
Sterling scored first league goal for the reds on a 1-0 win against Reading.
