Eighteen times English league champions Liverpool has offloaded Italian central midfielder Alberto Aquilani on permanent basis to Fiorentina.
28 year old Italian midfielder’s frustrating three year in Liverpool has come to an end after both club agreed a term which was confirmed on both clubs official website later in Friday.
Three season ago Aquilani was brought from Roma in £17m by Rafael Benitez. He was featured in Liverpool for 26 times scoring two goals. Later in 2010-2011 he was loaned to Juventus and in 2011-2012 again he was sent back to Italy to spent a season with AC Milan. Now Aquilani is expected to fill the gap in the team created after Montolivo move to AC Milan as a free agent.
It was a second major departure from Liverpool after Rodgers arrival as a manager. First one to left the squad was Maxi Rudriguez. Major signing for Liverpool has been Borini from Parma and they have been targeting Joe Allen and Client Dempsy.
