Great Britain will start their quest with a home advantage in the tournament against Senegal when they face the African side tomorrow on July 26.
After a comfortable defeat against Brazil in the warm up match, the home team will look for improvement to grab the advantage at their ground. They will start with Micah Richards, Bellamy and Giggs as their senior players along with remaining U-23 players in the Great Britian Olympic Team. They would look to start fine in their first match to get strong until they face Group A warriors Uruguay in their last game.
Britain has good change to feature Chelsea’s young army Sturridge as his return from an injury makes it no injured one in the count which makes Stuart Pearce will all possible options for the game.
Meanwhile Senegal will feature with English Premier league man Mohamed Diame who had recent move to newly promoted side West Ham from Wigan. Senegal in the other hand has a full list to choose from as no injury has been reported.
Great Britain: Butland, Taylor, Richards, Caulker, Bertrand, Ramsey, Allen, Giggs, Cleverley, Sturridge, Bellamy
Senegal: Mane, Ciss, Souare, P Gueye, Bindia, Konate, Diame, I Gueye, Toure, N’Doye, Balde
Great Britian 2:1 Senegal
GB would not like to miss out an opportunity they got 50 years later as this is their first appearance in the Olympic football since 1962 and they might not want to waste advantage they have hosting the tournament.
