Japan vs Iceland : Match report
Japan dominates Irish in Nagia Stadium. Blue samurai won with score of 3-1 . It was a perfect start for Japan in first match of 2012, Ryochi maeda started scoring in 2nd minute of the game.
The hosts started match with goal after Tomoaki Makino set up a cross for Ryoichi Maeda head goal. The visitors were in deep problem after home side made a continuous attack in their post. In was first match for Lars Lagerback as a Ireland coach. Irish made some good counter attacks in the first half but they were nicely saved by Japan goalkeeper Shunsaku Nishikawa. In 8th minute of the second half Fujimoto scored his first goal for national team after receiving a delightful pass from substitute Nakamura. Fujimoto chipped the ball over the keeper. Tomoaki Makino, The former Koln player made the score 3-0 in 21st minute of the second half. The only goal for Iceland came in injury time after Smarason converted the penalty.
