Former Manchester United and Atletico Madrid forward Diego Forlan has retured from International Football from today.The World Cup 2010 Golden Ball winner said in a press conference broadcasted in his website that he will no longer appear for the National team. Forlan earned 112 caps for the national team and scored 36 goals in the process. He was exceptional in his team’s 4th position finish in the World Cup 2010 held in South Africa.

Forlan also won the Copa America under guidance of coach Oscar Tabarez. Forlan also won UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup with Atletico Madrid while he also won Premier League title with Manchester United in 2003/04 season. He won the Pichichi trophy twice in his career, first with Villareal in 2004/05 season and then with Atletico Madrid in 2008/09 season. He also won European Golden Shoe in 2008/09 and then shared the trophy with Thierry Henry in 2004/05.
