Spain and Italy secured win on two different games in the group C to carry on through the tournament.

Spain and Italy enter the quarter finals from the group C as they were able to beat Croatia and Ireland respectively in the deciding game of the group stage. Cassano scored a superb header following a header through Pirlo provided Italy first lead of the game while the second one came from a super volley from Mario Balotelli  on the late minutes to confirm Italy’s journey on a happy side.  Ireland who ended at the end of the group had no chance even if they have won as a result of their previous two defeats in the tournament. Italy ended 2-0 to confirm their entry at the knockout stage. Italy will be playing against the group D winners which will be decided later today.

On the other match Spain outdated Croatia and topped the group with 1-0 win against Croatians. Although they possessed 72% of the ball till the end of the match but they struggled to win. The only came from Jesus Navas who entered the field for Fernando Torres who could not shine in the match. Navas walked through the ball to score on a fine assist from Iniesta who also admitted that Spanish suffered against Croatia. Spanish who will play against Group D runnerup advanced as the group leader only after 88′ minute lat goal from Navas.
