Drenthe Complains Messi Called Him ‘Negro’
The Real Madrid Man who has been sent in loan for Everton Complains that he is uneasy with the tone Messi calls him ‘negro’ and he says this has repeated lot in their meetings in Primera Division last few years.
The Dutchman who has recently been loaned to Everton complains in an interview that he has been called ‘negro’ repeatedly by the Argentine start Leo Messi in their several meetings in Spain while he featured in Real Madrid and Hercules CF. He added that he realizes that the use of word ‘negro’ is common in South America but insists that the tone Messi calls him ‘negro’ bothers him and he finds it difficult to deal with.
He reminds his last meeting with Barcelona with him featuring for Hercules. He said that Messi gave him a hand before a game and said ‘hi Negro(Hola Negro)’ .
Drenthe has played 46 games for Real Madrid and 17 games for Hercules on loan while he has featured 21 games with English Premier League team Everton.
In same interview, he has also revealed that he might get back to Feyenoord, where he started his senior career at.
Late in this season, other South American player Luis Suarez has already been banned 8 games and fined 40,000 pounds for accusing Evra racially. Suarez has already confessed that ‘negro’ word is common in South America, although it is not in Football.
Its is yet to be heard from Messi and barcelona about this.
